Being Content with 2024

As 2024 comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey this year has been. It’s been a year of pushing boundaries, setting ambitious goals, and, most importantly, achieving some of them. Looking back, I’m amazed by how much I’ve accomplished. This year was also filled with memorable experiences—concerts, theatre performances, comedians, art, and authors.

The year began with clear intentions, both personal and professional. I set a series of goals, some daunting and others exhilarating, all designed to push me out of my comfort zone. Whether it was learning a new skill, building on professional development, or prioritizing my mental and physical health, each milestone reminded me of the importance of consistency and perseverance.

This year, a key focus was earning a designation and receiving training in team coaching. While reviewing my "24 for 24" goals, I realized I didn’t achieve all that I set out to do. However, I also recognized that the goals I didn’t complete weren’t truly important to me—if they were, I would have made them a priority. As I reflect on my "25 for 25" list, I’ve let go of some "24 for 24" items while carrying others forward. One goal that has stayed on my list for three years is taking a hot air balloon ride—2025 will be the year it happens!

One of my key lessons from 2024 has been to always find the silver lining, seek opportunities, and remember that I have the power to choose my perspective. It’s not necessarily what happens to you, but how you react and navigate through it. This year was filled with valuable lessons.

On the career front, I’m proud to have taken on new challenges, expanded my knowledge, and made strides toward long-term professional growth. Collaborating on exciting projects and discovering new ways to innovate and problem-solve have made 2024 one of my most fulfilling years professionally. I said goodbye to some colleagues and welcomed new ones, embracing the constant evolution of my work environment.

As always, I am grateful for the year behind me and the year ahead. Aging isn’t always easy, but it’s an incredible gift—one not everyone gets to experience. Each year, I’m reminded to live each day fully, as tomorrow is never guaranteed.

What about you?

  • What are you proud of this year?

  • What will you add to your list of goals or dreams for 2025?

  • Are there things you need to let go of? Or things you need to embrace?
